Advent means "coming" and for the next five Sundays, Pastor Phil Henry will ask the question, "Why did Jesus come?" Each week his answer will be from Jesus' own words and teaching. In this Sunday's first Advent sermon, we learn that "Jesus Came to Serve."

In the message for this morning's gathering, we examined the account of the man possessed by an unclean demon in Luke 4:31-37. Unfortunately the recorder wasn't turned on so the audio of this message isn't available. But we've posted the sermon manuscript here for your benefit.
As a summary, the sermon first went through the text in a verse-by-verse fashion; then the pastor examined 1) what we know from the Bible about demon possession; 2) why we should believe in demon possession (and any other miracle, for that matter); and 3) what demon possession has to do with the good news of the Gospel.
