Jeremy Casella visits Mercy Hill

Mercy Hill is excited to have Jeremy Casella visit our church on November 9.  It is also the same Sunday that we are receiving new members.  

Jeremy Casella is a singer/songwriter & recording artist based out of Nashville, Tennessee who has been sharing his songs and stories all around the United States and occasionally parts of Europe for the last 14 years. He has worked with the Indelible Grace Movement.  His re-write of the great hymn Guide me O Thou Great Jehovah which you can listen to below has been sung in our church for the last year. 

Secondly he will be performing a House Show Sunday evening.  We are working on those details and will announce those soon.

A Brief Recap: the History of Mercy Hill

This past Sunday our church gathered at Atkinson Park for our anniversary Sunday. This is a chance for us to get outside, enjoy the fall weather, and remind ourselves of what God is doing among us, and why we're organizing this church.

I preached a message which touched on two parts of our mission statement, "Helping people thrive in Christ." I explained first what it means to be "in Christ." And second, how bearing fruit is what we mean by "thriving in Christ."

Also as part of my message, I reviewed a brief history of where we've come from as a congregation. I'll reproduce that history/recap here. As you read, please pray to God and thank Him for all He's doing in our midst, and ask Him to do even more in the new year that's coming.

A brief history of Mercy Hill

I was called by the New Jersey Presbytery in September of 2008 to begin a new church ministry in Gloucester County.

The problem was that, at the time, I lived in southern Arizona, had never lived in New Jersey, we had money, no mother church, and I had never planted a church before.

Reformation Day Service

Join area Reformed churches of Southern New Jersey as we gather together to remember God's gracious providence displayed during the Protestant Reformation of the 15th and 16th Centuries. 

On Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 6:00pm Covenant Presbyterian (520 South Kings Highway Cherry Hill, NJ) will be hosting a Reformation Day Service. This is a joint Lord's Day Evening Service of various churches throughout our region. There will also be a combined choir under the direction of Rob Hobgood of Covenant PCA.

Dr. Richard B. Gaffin, Jr, a profession of Biblical and Systematic Theology, Emeritus at Westminster Theological Seminary, will be speaking on "The Reformation, The Gospel and Good Works" (Philippians 1:6).

A time of fellowship will follow immediately after the service.
