A New Course on Faithful Stewardship

In our day and age of debt and financial stress, it only makes sense that people stop and consider what the Lord has to say about our money, our possessions, and our attitude toward all that He has given to us.

In biblical times, a person entrusted with the care and keeping of the Master's goods was called a steward. As Christians, we are called to be good stewards of our time, money, and gifts--all of which come from God:

"Every good and perfect gift comes from above, from the Father of Lights, with whom there is no shadow of turning." (James 1)

Mercy Hill believes that stewardship is essential for spiritual health, and is excited to partner with the Family Strenthening Network (FSN) to offer our first leadership training course called Financial Peace University.

The class will be hosted at the meeting location of Mercy Hill church on Wednesday nights starting 9/25 and going through the middle of November. Each class runs from 6:30-8pm.

It isn't only for leaders, though: anyone in our community who is interested in Chritsian principles of stewardship and finance should feel more than welcome to attend.

Take note: this is not just a "budgeting course." This is a fundamental overview of what God thinks about our possessions and, while it is taught from a specifically biblical point of view, will be helpful for anyone from any faith background.

Child care is provided by screened and trained children's ministry workers from Mercy Hill for families who need this service/support.

The cost for the program is normally $99. Mercy Hill is pleased to offer the program for a discounted rate of $49 (by September 11). Additional scholarships are also available upon request.

This is an inter-faith opportunity and no church background is required. More details can be found at the Eventbrite registration site.
