Launching Weekly Worship

Mercy Hill "officially" began weekly worship in September a little ahead of schedule, and in a slightly different way than had been planned.

But we are excited about the changes and about what God is doing at this stage of our new church community this Fall. Here's some background and an update on what God's doing in our church.

Third House Church

This past Sunday,  about thirty people gathered for worship at the home of Steve and Susan Carter. We also were able to greet several new families who were visiting Mercy Hill for the first time.

The morning was filled with worship, fellowship and a  sermon on forgiveness by Pastor Phil Henry.  After worship we had a time of fellowship over brunch. Those who were able gathered again for a time of study through the material in Tangible Kingdom. This is a great study on being incarnational Christians and adopting a posture for gospel living.

Please join us for our final house church of the summer will be August 29th.

Second House Church

Kirby and Seth help Kyle on the way out of house church.Mercy Hill gathered for a second "Sunday summer house church" service this morning.

About thirty people came and enjoyed singing, prayers, and a message on the subject of the "devotions and emotions" of the early church. (Click here for a short summary of the message and look for the audio to be posted later this week.)

A highlight was when Kyle and his family came. By God's grace, Kyle survived a near-fatal motorcycle accident only a few weeks ago and his presence was astounding to everyone who saw him and heard his story.

In the photo above, Kyle is being carried out of the house by two men.

Praise God for his mercy to Kyle and to all of us who long to see the church be who God has called her to be: a refuge for sinners, skeptics, and everyone seeking the mercy of God.
